Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is the fourth installment in the Fatal Frame series. It is a traditional Japanese horror adventure game set on the isolated Rogetsu island in Japan. The events of the story took place ten years after five young girls went missing during an island festival, three girls returned to the island to discover what happened. The girls must locate relics in order to uncover the island’s past and recover their lost memories. The girls must use a Camera Obscura, a camera capable of capturing incomprehensible phenomena, to repel invading spirits.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was originally released for Wii in 2008 in Japan exclusively. On March 9th, 2023, the digital remaster of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse will be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Koei Tecmo also announced the release of the Digital Deluxe Edition for consoles, which includes the downloadable content “Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party Costume Set” and a digital art book with the original music.
