The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, a collection of the first six Final Fantasy games, has recently surpassed two million copies sold, according to an announcement made on Twitter. These sales span multiple platforms, including Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

Initially launched on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, the series rolled out with Final Fantasy I, II, and III on July 28, 2021, followed by Final Fantasy IV on September 8, 2021, Final Fantasy V on November 10, 2021, and Final Fantasy VI on February 23, 2022. All six games became available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch users on April 19, 2023.

The remastered series offers fans updated 2D pixel graphics and a beautifully rearranged soundtrack. The gameplay has been improved with modernized user interfaces and auto-battle options. Additionally, players can delve deeper into the game world through extras like a bestiary, illustration gallery, and music player. It is important to note that these remastered editions are based on the original titles, and some changes or additional elements found in other remakes are not included.

Key features of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series include universally updated 2D pixel graphics, with the renowned character designs by Kazuko Shibuya, the original artist and current collaborator. The soundtrack, overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu, has been beautifully rearranged in a faithful Final Fantasy style. The improved gameplay, modernized UI, auto-battle options, and supplemental extras like the bestiary, illustration gallery, and music player provide a richer gaming experience for both new and returning players.
