Fantavision 202X, an action puzzle game about detonating fireworks from developer and publisher Cosmo Machia, has just released a new trailer for its upcoming Deluxe Edition physical release on the PlayStation 5.

According to a new tweet from publisher Red Art Games, 2,000 copies of the Deluxe Edition will be available. In honor of the original Fantavision title from the PlayStation 2 days, the Deluxe Edition will include a PS2-inspired reversible cover, as well as a sleeve and double-sided poster.

Fantavision 202X is digitally available now, and compatible with the PS VR2. The Deluxe Edition is expected to release in late Q3, and pre-orders are available now via Red Art Games. You can watch today’s physical edition gameplay trailer on the publisher’s official YouTube channel:

Fantavision 202X is a relatively simple and casual puzzle game, where the fireworks show is the main attraction. Players simply need to catch and fire off fireworks. Fortunately, the light show does look decent, and there are a variety of unique environments where you wouldn’t ordinarily see fireworks.

It also helps that the game is compatible with the PS VR2, where it launched digitally back in February, including dedicated VR stages. All of the corresponding tech makes it a breezy, immersive experience that’s worth returning to around July.

Today’s trailer has strategically released on the Fourth of July, when casual fans are likely to invest in the spirit of the holiday. But there’s also a fun nostalgic nod to the early days of PS2, and it’s admittedly neat to see a cover with the classic logo. In fact, this could be an effective trend for the countless other games that emphasize retro homage.
