Legend Bowl, a football sim from developer Super Pixel Games and publisher Top Hat Studios, will officially release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on August 9th, 2023.
Legend Bowl is already available on PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam, where you can also try a playable demo. You can watch today’s release date trailer on the PlayStation YouTube channel:
Despite the retro visuals, Legend Bowl is unexpectedly complex, and ultimately aims for some ambitious realism. It includes sim-based controls, team management, a variety of controls, and even customization. It’s the perfect combination of arcade flair and speed with the challenge of learning and mastering mechanics that are grounded and modern.
Legend Bowl has widely impressed PC fans since launch, and now that it’s arriving on consoles, sports fans will definitely enjoy the alternative to the conventional football franchises. Many familiar sports series have become relatively stale, because they don’t evolve very much from one year to the next.
Legend Bowl is streamlined, accessible, and layered, but it also has a vision for the experience. It should absolutely thrive on the Nintendo Switch. It matches the brand with its charming music and friendly art design. Also, players can easily take this kind of gameplay on the go. And although games can be a little complicated, the controls are fluid and intuitive enough for mobile play.
The official Steam page also highly recommends that players use a gamepad, and local multiplayer requires a controller. So, it’s clear that Legend Bowl already had consoles in mind, and the new console release will likely benefit gameplay, in addition to building many new audiences.
