Freshly into Early Access, Forever Skies, released on June 22nd, 2023, has promptly shared the forthcoming development agenda. In a post titled “Future Flight Map”, the developers lay out an extensive plan for what lies ahead for the survival title.
The development roadmap includes a wide range of updates and features, all of which are guaranteed to be incorporated into the game, according to the developers. However, the order in which these elements will be rolled out remains flexible, hinging on both priority and community input.
Among the planned game features, players can anticipate four-player cooperative play, airship gardening, combat scenarios, and airship expansion. In addition, the roadmap outlines more story content, new locations and lore sites, extra airship devices, and additional scientific tools. Players can also expect a wider range of collectible artifacts, airship paint options, furniture sets, and new creatures.

The development roadmap is not limited to game content and features. Support measures are equally paramount. A broader language support, pet “The Bug” feature, full controller support, along with ongoing fixes and patches are part of the upcoming additions.
In terms of updates, the developers are targeting a schedule of larger game and content updates every 3-4 months, with smaller patches and adjustments in the intervening periods. The first patch is already in progress and is projected to be available in the coming week.
The developers emphasize their commitment to involving the game’s community in shaping the direction of Forever Skies. To this end, they have allocated substantial time and resources to implement community-driven features and content. Community members are encouraged to voice their opinions through various platforms, including the game’s Discord server, the Steam forums, and a dedicated feedback button within the game’s pause menu.
