Prominent entertainment executive, Sharon Tal Yguado, is launching a new game studio, called Astrid Entertainment.
Sharon Tal Yguado is a senior media executive who has been recognized as one of the most prominent media executives in Hollywood. Yguado has established successful studio departments at a number of significant media businesses, including Amazon and Fox. Her efforts in fantasy and science fiction productions such as “The Walking Dead,” “The Boys,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “The Wheel of Time,” and “Invincible” have earned her a great deal of recognition.
Now, Sharon Tal Yguado has set up a new game studio called Astrid Entertainment, a new gaming venture building its first interactive universe. Astrid Entertainment is bringing together accomplished and noteworthy worldbuilders to craft fantastical living worlds. Its debut game will be a fantasy interactive universe that will be rooted in deep lore, environmental worldbuilding, and it will have a system architecture that will foster the development of cooperative narratives. Players’ actions and decisions will cause the worlds they inhabit to develop in unique ways; players will have the opportunity to explore the world, go on adventures, meet the world’s intriguing characters, learn new skills, collect and share resources, and do all of this while building new bonds that will develop and change over time.

Recently, Astrid Entertainment was successful in securing a high seven-figure investment from a group of investors that included NetEase Games, Stardom, and Tower 26. Its leadership team will comprise both “accomplished and innovative” developers that come from high-budget game production backgrounds as well as independent game development backgrounds, and this team will be unveiled in the following months.
