A few days ago, Rafael Grassetti, known for his contribution as an Art Director of the critically acclaimed God of War Ragnarok, revealed that he has departed from Sony Santa Monica after over a decade of service.

Spanning more than seventeen years of career in the entertainment industry, Grassetti has established himself as a talented and exceptional digital and traditional artist. Grasetti joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2012, and before moving to Santa Monica Studio, he worked as an Art Supervisor on Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and The Order 1886. He eventually served as a principal artist for the 2018 God of War and as an art director for God of War Ragnarok. In November 2022, he became studio Art Director for Santa Monica Studio before bidding farewell to the company.

Today, Grassetti announced his new journey with Netflix, lending his talents to the development of a new original IP AAA game. He will be working alongside other esteemed figures from the gaming industry, including Joseph Staten, best known for his work as Halo Infinite Creative Lead, Jerry Edsall, who worked as the Lead Programmer for Gears of War 5, and Chacko Sonny, the former Executive Producer for the Overwatch franchise. Apart from excitement, the reveal has also generated curiosity surrounding the upcoming Netflix game.

As of now, specific details about the forthcoming Netflix game remain undisclosed. However, Joseph Staten, who recently joined Netflix in April, shared in a previous post that he will assume the role of Creative Director for this brand-new AAA multiplatform game. In any case, given that some of the best in the gaming industry have gathered in the studio of Netflix to work on this project hints that it will be nothing short of ambitious. As anticipation arises, the stage has been set for Netflix to make its mark in the gaming landscape.
