In a recent announcement, IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, revealed that Rodrigo Santoro is now part of their team as the Missions Director for their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007. Santoro has previously worked on games like Tom Clancy’s The Division and the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

IO Interactive announced the hiring of Santoro on X (formerly Twitter). They say he has the key qualities that align perfectly with the studio’s vision for Project 007. Frederik Villumsen, Associate Production Director at IO Interactive, further elaborated on the reasons behind their decision. Apparently, it was evident that Rodrigo was exceptional among the candidates from the interview process last year. The feedback from his previous co-workers was consistently positive, highlighting his exceptional critical thinking and enthusiastic approach.

I do think this is important because he’s in charge of designing missions for the game. If you’ve played the new Hitman games, you’ll know that it takes a lot of critical thinking and experimentation to accomplish missions. I’d say the smarter and more effective. He will make sure the game’s story, art, and gameplay are well-balanced for an authentic James Bond experience. It sounds a lot like a Game Director, and likely is, but we don’t want to assume.

“I am super excited to join IOI! I admire how the studio dares to innovate and create new memorable game experiences. This is particularly remarkable in times when most companies are focused on making sequels. Project 007 got my attention since the day it was announced, and I feel incredibly fortunate to work with the team making the game. I was able to see more of the game and there is already something unique about it. Most importantly, every conversation that I have had so far with team members has shown the team is passionate about delivering a memorable and unique experience. Right now, I am looking forward to start working with the team, and together, delivering the best 007 game ever made.”

Rodrigo Santoro

He is obviously happy to do this. He praised IO Interactive’s dedication to innovation and creating unique gaming experiences. He emphasized the uniqueness of Project 007 and wanted to make a great James Bond game.

While there isn’t much information available about Project 007 at the moment, Rodrigo Santoro’s involvement shows us that the company is actively working on the game. This development gives us a sense of production surrounding IO Interactive’s new interpretation of the classic James Bond series.
