Fortnite is encouraging players to find or bring a friend through January 10th, 2023, by adding new rewards for completing tasks together. The Refer-a-Friend system begins now, and fans will get access to five different prizes, such as the “Xander” outfit.

Here’s the official announcement from Fortnite’s feed, which shows off half of the potential rewards:

Fortnite continues its juggling act with countless successful updates, including map changes, new mechanics, and new content like Indiana Jones and Thor. Then there’s events like the return of the Galaxy Cup for Samsung Galaxy users, which just unfolded over the last couple days:

Overall, Fortnite fans are pleased with the waves of new content. However, some are a little frustrated that Refer-a-Friend prizes will insist on playing with someone new to the game. Fortunately, there’s plenty of time to figure that out.

Refer-a-Friend rules and breakdown

In order to connect, players will need to log in on the website with their Epic Games Account, and connect with eligible friends.

In an effort to make this process easier, the friends don’t have to be completely new to the game. Instead, they must have played less than two hours of Battle Royale or Zero Build playlists in the last 30 days.

So, if your friend tried Fortnite before and it didn’t take, here’s an opportunity for you to get them hooked with some free rewards.

You and your friend must work together on these challenges to redeem the cosmetics. Players can earn a Xander-themed spray, wrap, back bling, pickaxe and outfit. And even though the Refer-a-Friend program will end on January 10th next year, registered users will have until February 2023 to complete the tasks.
