Just in time for Obi-Wan’s upcoming series debut, Fortnite has officially announced the Kenobi Cup and a new set of related collectibles. The Kenobi Cup will begin on May 22nd, 2022 for a chance to win the new items early, but they will enter the Item Shop on May 26th, 8 PM eastern time.

Here’s the official tweet, which has finally fixed the bugged link to the blog post:

Fans have been clamoring for the Obi-Wan outfit, and although there’s still no customizable lightsabers just yet, there are plenty of other new items to break down.

Obi-Wan Kenobi set details

Aside from the Obi-Wan skin, players can also expect to find his Desert Essentials Back Bling, Blade Pickaxe, Jedi Interceptor Glider and a Message Emote.

The lot can be purchased individually, or as a bundle. The bundle adds a loading screen of Obi-Wan on the run. The Back Bling isn’t exactly a classic, relating more to the new series on Disney+.

But the ship from Revenge of the Sith is a very nice touch, and one can only hope that the message emote offers some familiar fan service too. Unfortunately, fans are still holding out for a lightsaber pickaxe, or at least Obi-Wan’s lightsaber.

Kenobi Cup breakdown

On May 22nd, the cup will host a duos mode of Battle Royale that features Lightsabers and E-11 Blaster Rifles, which were just recently featured in the May the 4th celebration.

Within a regional time window of just three hours, players will only have a 10-match limit to win Obi-Wan Kenobi prizes early. Every elimination rewards one point, while a total victory is worth 25 points.

Unfortunately, newcomers can’t just jump in, because your account level must be at least 50 in the Career tab.
