Amazon Luna, a cloud gaming platform, has expanded its library with the addition of Fortnite, courtesy of a collaboration between Amazon and Epic Games. Players in the US, Canada, Germany, and the UK can now enjoy Fortnite on Amazon Luna. Amazon Prime members can access the game as part of their membership, while others can play using their existing Luna+ subscription or by signing up for a free seven-day trial of Luna+.
Daniel Rausch, Vice President of Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services, said that Fortnite was the most requested game by Luna customers in the US. He expressed Amazon’s commitment to making gaming more accessible and affordable without the need for costly hardware. Rausch also highlighted Amazon’s curated approach to building Luna’s library, ensuring there’s a game for everyone.
Fortnite enthusiasts can play various game modes, such as Battle Royale or Creative, on devices they already own, including Amazon’s Fire TV, select smart TVs, streaming media players, PCs, MacBooks, Chromebooks, tablets, and browsers on iPhone and Android mobile devices. Amazon recommends a stable internet connection with a sustained speed of at least 10Mbps for an optimal gaming experience on Luna.
Luna customers can participate in Fortnite seasonal events, play islands developed with the recently announced Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and link their existing Epic account to progress their Battle Pass.
Amazon has also added Tormented Souls, Retro Classix: BreakThru, Retro Classix: Express Raider, Retro Classix: Super Real Darwin, and Retro Classix: Wizard Fire to Luna+ in May. Prime members can play LEGO DC Super-Villains, Resident Evil 2, Overcooked!, and Time on Frog Island at no additional cost during May as part of the Prime Gaming offer.
