Well-known Fortnite leaker HypeX has dropped a potential bombshell on Twitter. Fortnite OG Part 2 is reportedly in the works, but this time, it could be a permanent fixture as a separate game mode. According to HypeX, Egyptian_Leaker, and SpushFNBR, this last update was very telling.
While details are still scarce, HypeX suggests that today’s update included a distinct playlist/mode tag dedicated explicitly to a mode called “Fortnite OG Part 2.” This hints at Epic Games actively developing the concept, though whether it’ll be a temporary event like the original OG Mode or a permanent addition to the roster remains unclear.
Information on what exactly Fortnite OG Part 2 might have is also up in the air. We can speculate that it could involve a return to earlier gameplay mechanics and everything we saw in the Fortnite OG change that caused a lot of love for Fortnite. We imagine that the “Part 2” piece of the name is a way of saying that there are improvements. Maybe they’ll be taking the best parts of all the seasons and putting it into this mode. Unforutnately, until Epic Games offers official details, we cannot confirm anything.
This news has certainly ignited the Fortnite community, with plenty of comments happily celebrating. This has been a feature that fans have wanted for a while, and Epic Games definitely benefitted from going back to OG. So we can’t see any reason why they wouldn’t rush on a way to give that to players again.
Of course, it’s important to remember that this is still a leak, and official confirmation from Epic Games is yet to come. Nevertheless, with data miners finding a dedicated playlist/mode tag appearing in the update, Fortnite OG Part 2 seems like it could be more than just wishful thinking.
