Epic has released a small weapons nerf to a few different weapons in the game. These decreases in power, will hopefully bring them more in line with the rest of the items in the game, which will make things more balanced going forward. This is actually fairly rare, as things usually get changed during the weekly patches.
The guns in question are the Two-Shot Shotgun, Hammer AR, Striker Burst AR, and Combat SMG.
- Burst AR Body & Builds Damage nerfed from 28/29/31/33/34 to 27/29/30/32/33
- Combat SMG Body Damage nerfed from 20/21/22/23/24 to 19/20/21/22/23
- It was nerfed again from 19/20/21/22/23 to 17/18/19/20/21
- Two-Shot Shotgun minimum hit pellets increased from 3 to 4 and maximum damage from 75/80/85/90/95/95 to 80/85/90/95/98/99
These weapons also went through an additional change a bit later in the day:
- Striker Burst AR – Reduced damage and increased first-bullet recoil
- Hammer AR – Reduced recoil
- Two-Shot Shotgun – Increased pellet damage, minimum pellet count, accuracy and max damage cap
As you would guess, some of these changes are polarizing with the community. However, notable players like Nick Eh 30 and SypherPK seem to be happy, with Nick mentioning that bringing the power down on the older weapons will incentivize players to use the new ones. Only time will tell if he is right or not!
