The v25.30 update in Fortnite brought the surprise of a Futurama collaboration, but it seems that a new live event will be happening soon. According to one data miner, Fortnite will have some kind of telescope pointed toward the sky that will focus on a specific mapping of stars and some kind of gate that will progress through the rest of this season.
Fortnite data miner and content creator iFireMonkey posted a screenshot showing that a Telescope as part of this season’s narrative will be built. It will keep an eye on a special map of the stars, with a special section related to a tear that’s expected to open. It will progress through four stages of a rift that’s likely to open and expand in the sky.
It’s unclear if this will progress into a live event at the end of Chapter Four, season three, but we saw the Collider last year progress in intensity in a similar way leading into the Vibin season. Whatever these forces are up to on the island, it’s likely to set the foundation for next season, and potentially even a live event that could happen near the end of August.
This is just speculation based on what is in the files, but iFireMonkey shows multiple screenshots of what the map and rift will look like, including the one above. It looks like this will be no small part of the game and players will likely be able to see it in the sky from certain parts of the map. This is also similar to the Collider, which would repeatedly send out a pulse into the sky.
