The launch of Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2: Myths and Mortals has been delayed due to technical difficulties. Epic Games announced the delay via the official Fortnite Status X (Formerly Twitter) account. They explained that an issue arose during maintenance and would require at least eight additional hours to be resolved. We don’t normally expect this kind of stuff to happen, but it’s not unusual.

So Fortnite will experience an extended downtime, and at the sound of eight hours, we have about seven to go as of writing this. It’s easy to say that players are disappointed. Eight hours is a lot longer than the usual downtimes. The average time is normally two to three hours, but hearing eight feels like another day may go by.

The new season, Myths and Mortals is based on Greek mythology. It was supposed to start this morning, but it looks like it will be nighttime for those in Europe. as they eagerly awaited the new season’s promised features, such as playing as Greek gods in the game’s battle pass, confronting mythological deities in boss encounters, and accessing unique powers like summoning Zeus’s thunderbolt or flying with the Wings of Icarus. Furthermore, significant changes to the battle royale map were anticipated, including locations like Mount Olympus and the haunting Underworld.

So, while we wait for some kind of confirmation or solution, we’ll just have to look at the X account. We’ll update this article if the delay goes even further.
