Since the beginning of Chapter Three, season two, Fortnite has introduced new movement mechanics in each new Chapter update, with mantling, climbing, and vaulting being a few additions. It’s almost expected that Epic will add something new during each new chapter, and one data miner thinks that Chapter Five might feature wall-running and jumping.

Fortnite data miner and content creator ShiinaBR on Twitter shared a leak stating the new movement in Chapter Five could be the ability to run and jump off walls, similar to Titanfall 2. Shiina states that both of these movements are expected to release at the start of Fortnite Chapter Five, season one, but this is all speculation for now.

If true, it’s important to note that Shiina says the systems are being tested, which likely means there is something remaining in the files that point to this new movement mechanic. However, there have been other systems like the potential for skateboards found in the files, with some even showing the movement in-game, but these ultimately failed to amount to anything.

This is all speculation until Epic Games confirms it, but it would follow the yearly trend the game has seen of adding a new movement system to keep the game feeling fresh. Players have been fans of other new movement options in Fortnite like the Grapple Gloves and the Impact Hammer, so it would likely be welcomed as long as it’s done well.
