The Fortnite x Nike Airphoria event is now available, offering participants the opportunity to secure the Air Max 1 ’86 Back Bling for free. This is granted in recognition of their efforts to uncover the lost Air Max Grails in the game.
Airphoria, a high-altitude celebration of sneakerhead culture, welcomes players into locations such as “Station 97,” “Shoebox Tower,” and “Museum Max.” The objective is to navigate the city to find the missing Air Max Grails. Created through a partnership between Beyond Creative, Nike, and Epic Games using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), the Airphoria island can be accessed via Discover or island code 2118-5342-7190 until June 27, 2023, at 8 PM ET. Participants who spend at least 10 minutes on the island will receive the Air Max 1 ’86 Back Bling from June 28 ET. Note that the distribution might take a while, and the Back Bling will be housed in a gift box.
Airphoria recommends PC players to use the DirectX 12 rendering mode (which might necessitate a system restart and potentially an update of drivers), enable Nanite Virtualized Geometry, and set Global Illumination to either Lumen High or Lumen Epic.
Players can add more Air Max gear to their Lockers through the Fortnite Item Shop. The Airphoria Pack, featuring the Airie and Maxxed Out Max Outfits, along with the Pure Sole Boombox and Maxx Stacks Back Blings, is available for purchase. Additional items can supplement these outfits, including the That Ice and Maxx Axe Pickaxes, Maxx Drop Glider, and Keep ‘Em Crispy Emote, either individually or as part of the Airphoria Gear Bundle. The Bundle also includes the Air Wave Emoticon, Maxx Volume Spray, and the Airphoria Loading Screen.
Moreover, players who meet specific criteria can claim an Achievement on .SWOOSH. To be eligible, players must be at least 13 years old, reside in the United States, and link their Epic Games and Nike accounts between June 20 at 12 PM ET and June 27 at 8 PM ET. These players will be able to claim an Achievement on .SWOOSH by August 8, 2023.
