Fortnite is known for having multiple events each year that coincide with North American seasons, with the summer being one of the higher regarded. Now, ahead of Fortnite‘s Summer Escape event later today, free cosmetics have leaked that players will be able to earn once the event starts.
The leaks were posted about two hours ahead of the event’s start, with ShiinaBR and HYPEX both sharing images of the leaks on Twitter. The free cosmetics will likely be earned from challenges that unlock over time and seem to include a wide range of items that can make a complete set minus a new skin that we know of.
The free rewards are nine items from varying categories, including:
- Treezy back bling
- Blossom Drop contrail
- Toasted Coconut emote
- Bugsy glider
- Artifact Axe pickaxe
- Starry Sea wrap
- Nanner Buddy back bling
- Nanners wrap
- Wild Fronds back bling
Shiina was able to give a detailed look at the items in-game, showing the range and how well the greenery and artifact-style items play into the season. Players can see all nine items and their variations in their video below.
The Bugsy Glider and the Artifact Axe seem to be the biggest resemblances to the season, with the forest from the Wilds likely spawning the insect. When the island fell away at the start of Chapter Four, season three, it seems like it revealed an ancient settlement. The axe may have been discovered among the ruins, making it a perfect addition to this event. The rest seem like typical summer-themed cosmetics.
