Forza Motorsport is a great game for racing and the singleplayer offers a lot of options to keep an eye on the track and where everyone is. However, it’s hard to play clean when you don’t know where everyone is, and so having a radar is helpful. Otherwise, you’ll just be causing crashes by accident and get called dirty for no reason.

This guide will tell you whether you can turn that radar on during multiplayer matches with other humans, and if there are any alternatives. If you’re interested in turning up your Forza Motorsport experience, consider reading our leveling guide, where we go over the fastest and easiest way to level up in the game.

Does Forza Motorsport multiplayer have a radar?

Forza Motorsport does not have any radar for multiplayer, unfortunately. Instead, they have proximity arrows, which don’t work as well as most players would like. The conventional radar would tell you how many racers are near you and where they are. We’re not sure why this was excluded from this release, it may be an immersion thing.

Real-life racers do not have radars that show them where other drivers are, and even if they did, it would be a hindrance to look around. Those seconds they spend not looking at the road can be dozens of yards worth of distance they missed. However, this is not real life, so a radar isn’t so bad.

Since this is a game, we can let some things go. By not having a radar by default, the game causes more accidental collisions, so we’d say suspend disbelief. If anything, it should be an option that players can enable or disable.

How to turn on Proximity Arrows in Forza Motorsport multiplayer

To turn on proximity arrows, you have to go to your Gameplay Settings. From there, scroll down to Proximity Arrows and turn it on. This is a good way of not bumping into other players, but it’s still not as accurate as radar. So you may still get called a dirty racer for accidental bumping, and that’s not fun. Still, an arrow is better than nothing at all.
