In Silica, players are not compelled to play the game in either the first-person shooter or the real-time strategy genre, which means they will have more freedom to choose how they want to play. The action takes place in the scorching deserts of Baltarus, an exo-planet that is located hundreds of light-years from Earth.

Players are tasked with either locating and harvesting Balterium, a powerful element with immense potential or defending Baltarus against the invasion of humanity as an insect-like alien. Silica also includes several game modes, such as Strategy, where two teams build, harvest, and fight for domination.

There will be a variety of different roles available for players to take on in Silica. The Infantry role allows players to take control of any vehicle in the game, including the massive Harvester, the speedy Light Quad, or the menacing Siege Tank, among others.

Players may also take on the role of insect-like aliens in Silica, in which they will have the ability to switch their minds between different types of species. These include the stealthy Crab, the swift Hunter, and the armored Goliath.

Those who would rather command their troops from a distance have the prestigious opportunity to take on the role of Commander. As a commander, players will send Harvesters into silica crystal fields to cover up the valuable resources. Additionally, Commanders will construct and place enormous structures to generate and dispatch units that will dominate the battlefield.

You may add Silica to your Steam wishlist now to be alerted when it becomes available.
