Funko Fusion, an upcoming action-adventure game featuring the titular collectible figures from 10:10 Games, a studio that was built from creatives that previously worked at TT Games. Funko Fusion has not revealed an exact release date yet, but according to a new official blog post, the devs are aiming for an early 2024 release.
The game will feature just as wide a variety of characters as the collectibles themselves, blending the likes of Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, The Thing, and more. It’s intended to be a spin on the mash-up genre, and it will let players experience “key story moments” from the featured brands.
The supported platforms haven’t been specified, but Funko Fusion will be available on both PC and consoles. You can watch the full Funko Fusion teaser trailer on the 10:10 Games YouTube channel here:
Funko Fusion will be the very first title from 10:10 Games. However, the studio was founded by people bringing experience from TT Games, marking a very clear reference point for the quality fans should expect.
TT Games has consistently developed superbly crafted, gorgeous, and legitimately funny LEGO games that also had to faithfully comprehend beloved IP. So, although Funko Fusion may seem quite ambitious, 10:10 Games has plenty of potential to successfully handle the responsibility of such a monumental mash-up.
It’s both a shame and a thrill that Funko Fusion will incorporate direct story elements from the figures’ source material. It’d be nice to mix them up into places they ordinarily couldn’t be, with interactions they shouldn’t have. This is a highlight of the various multiverse games out there, like MultiVersus. But it is an opportunity to have some fun with some of the most famous shows and movies of all time.
