After three years of terrific content and gameplay, G2 Esports and AMANEK have finally parted ways, according to an official announcement. AMANEK has been one of their star Counter-Strike Global Offensive players, in addition to supporting G2 in other roles.

The team created a montage of highlights to celebrate AMANEK’s history with G2 Esports, which you can watch on their Twitter feed here:

Countless fans took to Twitter, showering AMANEK with praise and best wishes for the future of his eSports career, which is surely going to be bright. Within minutes, there were hundreds of likes for the Tweet to show support rather than relief.

The clip show accompanying the announcement is great, running about a minute long. But some were a little dismayed that the team didn’t organize a face-cam from AMANEK, or any other message.

AMANEK has been a true pro, frequently helping G2 Esports land in the top three of massive tournaments, with serious prize money. Back in May, AMANEK showed great sportsmanship by simply giving credit to the winners, as seen here:

Francois “AMANEK” Delaunay first joined G2 back in March of 2019, so it’s a shame to see him go. However, it’ll be interesting to see where he signs next, and who G2 Esports might pick up.

Despite losing AMANEK, G2 Esports continues to expand on all fronts. They only just announced a partnership with Herman Miller, a furniture company that will provide them with gaming setups.

G2 put together an amusing video to celebrate the partnership, and the effort does make you question why more effort wasn’t put into saying goodbye to AMANEK. Either way, you can check out the G2 x Herman Miller ad here:
