Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is slated to introduce its first DLC, Ruin. Steel Wool Studios, the game’s developer, has announced this expansion will be available to players for free and will be available in July. The official gameplay trailer provides a look into what players can expect from the upcoming DLC.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach stands apart from previous entries in the franchise due to its vastly different play style and visual appeal. Rather than reprising the standard security guard role, players are placed in the shoes of a boy named Gregory, who finds himself stranded overnight inside Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex.

The game’s narrative, which branches out based on player’s actions throughout the game, was believed to have concluded with Gregory’s escape. However, the forthcoming DLC indicates there is more to Gregory’s story. Although he can be heard speaking in the trailer, his physical presence is not confirmed, leaving room for speculation.

The central character in the Ruin DLC appears to be a young girl named Cassie. The newly released trailer showcases her journey through the haunting corridors of the Pizzaplex, now home to the degraded Glamrock animatronics. This leads to questions regarding the timeline and how much time has elapsed since the events of Gregory’s story.

The original Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach game, which debuted in December, garnered mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. While some players highlighted several glitches, others applauded the game for steering the franchise in a fresh and innovative direction.

As for the Ruin DLC, the trailer suggests that Cassie will be armed with tools and possibly some help to face the challenges lying in wait at the Pizzaplex. However, the specifics will remain under wraps until closer to the release date. In the meantime, fans can find solace in the fact that the wait for the Ruin DLC won’t be too long, with the release window slated for July 2023.
