Sumeru is currently known to be the largest explorable region in Teyvat, having both desert and forest environments. It was first made available during the release of version 3.0, although other areas of the Sumeru region remained unavailable as of now. Previous leaks have stated that the 3.1 update will open a massive desert area. Dataminer, Project Celestia, has claimed that although the desert area will be opened, there will still be around 31% area of Sumeru left unreleased.

Recently, the 3.1 Special Program has provided players with a first glimpse at the extended desert area of Sumeru, known as the Deshret desert. It is said to be the site where King Deshret’s ancient civilization stood before. The ancient kingdom was known to have advanced technology in addition to its rich and exotic environment. The highlight of the massive dune area is the Mausoleum of King Deshret, which seems to be a giant burning torch from afar.

As players explore the Deshret desert, they may encounter the new boss known as “The Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network.” It is known to be a perpetual motion device from the ancient civilization that governs the ruin machines scattered around the massive desert. Another boss, known as the “Aeonblight Drake,” will also appear. It is a dragon-shaped combat machine and is said to be the mightiest among all other Ruin Drakes in Sumeru.

The contents presented during the 3.1 Special Program made the anticipation of fans grow tremendously. In any case, Genshin Impact 3.0 is nearing completion, bringing the release of version 3.1 closer.
