The imminent Chinese New Year calls for a new Lantern Rite Festival event in Genshin Impact. The Chinese-based developer, HoYoverse, has always been preparing exciting events in line with the latest holiday. As revealed in the recent Special Program livestream, the Lantern Rite Festival will make its way as part of the Genshin Impact 3.4 update, which is expected to be released on January 18th.
In the 3.4 edition of the Lantern Rite Festival, titled “The Exquisite Night Chimes,” players will reunite with several Liyue characters as well as those from faraway regions in Teyvat. The new Lantern Rite event will include a lively music festival that will bring together musically inclined Genshin Impact characters. In addition to new festive events, Travelers will also discover ancient tales about the Cloud Retainer with Ganyu as they progress through the event story quest.
Version 3.4 will also include the Liyue art: Paper Theater event, which will allow players to experience organizing a stage play with paper actors in a manner similar to a 2D platformer game. Radiant Sparks, a new parkour game event, will also be included in the updated Lantern Rite. In this event, players must acquire the required gold coins within the time limit while traversing a track with power-ups called Aegises of Sparks and Firework Fruits that allow them to pierce through obstacles and glide into the sky.
In addition, players may participate in a sailing challenge called ‘Vigilance at Sea‘ in which they must gather gold coins within a certain time limit while sailing across a sea. To add to the challenge, the marine track will have floating Xiao lanterns that can set off fireworks that can cause damage to the Waverider if touched. As usual, this edition of the Lantern Rite Festival will also have a combat challenge event.
During the event period, Travelers will also have a chance to invite one 4-star Liyue character of their choice to their team in Fortuitous Invitation. This year, the featured 4-star Liyue characters include the following:
- Beidou
- Chongyun
- Ningguang
- Xiangling
- Xinyan
- Xingqui
- Yanfei
- Yun Jin
- Yaoyao
The cumulative log-in event, May Fortune Find You, will also be available, allowing Travelers to claim up to 10 Intertwined Fates. HoYoverse will also send 3 Intertwined Fates to all Travelers to express gratitude for their support throughout the years.
