Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds developer IllFonic has just revealed the upcoming Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed game with an official reveal trailer. It showcases the new, 4v1 assymetrical multiplayer game that will be available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in Q4 of 2022.
In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, you’ll be able to put on the famous Proton Pack while using tools like the Ghost Trap and the PKE Meter and work as a team of four to find ghosts, blast them with the Particle Thrower stream, tether them, and then trap them. The ghosts have abilities like teleportation and flying that will make it harder for you to accomplish those things.
Players will have the ability to upgrade their skills and equipment while also being able to customize their character and ghost. For those who aren’t into multiplayer, there is a single-player mode, but it does seem designed for people to work together cross-platform in multi-player mode.
The single-player mode will feature a story that can be played with or without other players. The developers are aiming for release in Q4 of this year (2022) and will be available through Epic Games Store for PC as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
