For players who enjoyed the fast-paced action and precision of the first game, Ghostrunner 2 looks to be a sequel that is evolving on the scale and quality of an already impressive world. While players knew the title was planned for a release sometime this year, a new store update states that Ghostrunner 2 will release on October 26, 2023.
Gaming journalist billbil-kun posted the tweet earlier this morning, stating that Ghostrunner 2 would be another release players can look forward to in October. The information was revealed by the Epic Games Store, which now lists the release date, and could be shown at some point during Gamescom. In their tweet, billbil-kun also lists differently priced editions of the title ranging from $40 to $70.
Update Aug. 21 at 5:18 a.m.: Ghostrunner 2 publisher 505 Games has confirmed the leaks in a tweet, stating that the title will indeed release on Oct. 26, 2023.
The developer of Ghostrunner 2, One More Level, stated last week that it would be attending Gamescom this year, so players might be able to expect an official announcement from the developer sometime this week. Opening Night Live kicks off Gamescom tomorrow, Aug. 22, with two days of the convention following that, so OML has plenty of time to show off a trailer or make an official announcement.
On the official Ghostrunner Twitter account, the developer teased an announcement today, which will likely be released on official channels soon.
The multiple-tiered editions of the title revealed may show that the developer is taking a similar monetization decision as the first title, with different styles and cosmetics likely available through the extra content players pay for.
