The quirky sandbox game Goat Simulator 3 was close to getting new DLC inspired by the popular game franchises Hitman and LA Noire. Although the plans were never fully carried out, developer Coffee Stain North recently shared in-depth details about the proposed content.
As revealed in an interview with IGN, The studio’s potential DLC ideas came from its regular internal game jams, where it brainstorms and prototypes unusual concepts. The proposed Hitman-themed DLC, “Goat55,” aimed to turn Pilgor into a social stealth assassin. In this concept, players would use disguises, hide bodies, and infiltrate areas to reach their targets, all with the signature Goat Simulator absurdity. Additionally, the concept included a playful reference to Metal Gear Solid, featuring a giant Metal Gear Rex.
“Writing a who-done-it mystery story was super, super fun. We [even] did an entire interrogation sequence where you could actually doubt… I don’t think it made it in but the idea was to go for [those] facial expressions. Like their eyes sticking out, mouths opening up. Yeah, we could have had a lot of fun with that thing.”

The second potential DLC was “Detective Pilgor”, a murder mystery experience inspired by Rockstar Games’ LA Noire. In this mode, players would have seen Pilgor interrogating suspects, with facial animations mirroring LA Noire’s interrogation system.
Despite these interesting DLC ideas, they didn’t make it into Goat Simulator 3. Coffee Stain North said that during development, they decided to focus on other concepts for the full release. The interview also mentioned the challenge of balancing the amount of content with creating engaging gameplay experiences.
While it’s not very likely that Goat55 or Detective Pilgor will be turned into real games, Coffee Stain North is not completely saying no. The company is open to bringing back these popular ideas if fans really want them.
