Goat Simulator 3, the latest installment in the hit sandbox series from developer and publisher Coffee Stain North, has just rolled out a new Easter-themed “Operation Crackdown” update today. It features a new event, nearly 20 new gears, and more.
Goat Simulator 3 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can watch the full Easter Update trailer on Coffee Stain North’s YouTube channel here:
Today’s new update is another fine addition to the Goat Simulator series, piling on new ways to cause hilarious mayhem. The devs have somehow maintained their incredibly sharp wit and creativity. Goat Simulator has always thrived on the humor in its physics and the sheer breadth of interactions in its world.
There’s still no justification for next-gen exclusivity, aside from that being a joke itself, but Goat Simulator 3 is definitely rolling out great content. It has certainly made the most of the Easter theme.
All of the new egg mechanics are pretty straightforward but also play against expectations here and there. There’s a decent amount of new gear, including the “turdles”, rubber rooster, and more. Five of these cosmetics even have abilities, which are always a delight to discover. The devs have consistently translated IP into the most brilliant knockoffs.
There were also a variety of bug fixes today, for assorted smaller issues. Aside from quality of life, the one that stands out is being able to Baa while you’re being rag-dolled, since both tend to happen a lot. For a full list of bug fixes, you can read the patch notes here.
Patch notes are generally reserved for scouring for nerfs and serious issues, but these deserve some praise. Fans of Goat Simulator should absolutely have a look, because it’s filled with inside jokes, pop culture references, and dad jokes.
