Cygames’ highly anticipated action RPG, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, launches February 1, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. However, the team already has plans for what’s coming as DLC and post-launch content to keep players returning.

As revealed in a PlayStation Blog interview, there will be a lot of post-launch content for Ganblue Fantasy: Relink. Starting in March, Relink will receive a steady stream of updates. Players can tackle the game’s most challenging quest yet, alongside the addition of two new playable characters: Seofon and Tweyen. April brings another fresh quest, and further updates are planned for May and beyond, though details remain under wraps.

Cygames emphasizes the focus on diverse character experiences. There are more than 20 playable characters, each with their own action and play style. The developers were very encouraging for players to try out the entire roster, not just stick with the main character.

“Each character comes from a unique, rich background, so it was important to include the elements of their Fate Episodes from the original version. We wanted to make them easily accessible to players stepping into the world of Relink. Since the backstory of who each character is and why they are with the main character plays an indispensable role in the game, the first two episodes of each character’s ten-part Fate Episode are revealed automatically.”

General Director, Tetsuya Fukuhara

The post-launch content will also dive deeper into Granblue Fantasy’s rich lore and relationships. The first two episodes of each character’s ten-part Fate Episode will be automatically unlocked, providing valuable backstory and context. Additionally, the Link Attack system offers opportunities for organic dialogue and interaction between characters during combat.

It sounds like a lot for after the game releases, so players should be ready for updates starting in March.
