Ahead of its release in June, more details about the upcoming alien-invasion survival horror game, Greyhill Incident, have been revealed today.
Greyhill Incident was first announced last year in March by developer Refugium Games. It is a story-driven survival-horror game about a classic alien invasion, which takes place during the early 90s. Players will take on the role of an ‘average guy,’ named Ryan Baker, who is equipped with a baseball bat and a revolver. Players will guide Ryan across the atmospheric neighborhood of Greyhill, which has been invaded by UFOs & Grey Aliens, to collect useful items, solve puzzles and save a neighbor in trouble.
Earlier teasers for Greyhill Incident have certainly emphasized the game’s eerie atmosphere, but a few drawbacks in the character design, which sometimes appear a bit comical, are also present. In addition to photorealistic environments, the game captures a genuine camera shake as the character is running, making it more suitable for VR.
The latest trailer of Greyhill Incident showcased the Found Footage mode, which is exclusive to the Abducted Edition or the Physical Edition of the game. With this mode, players will be able to experience Greyhill Incident in a black-and-white VHS graphic. It appears that Greyhill Incident looks better in the Found Footage mode as it renders the overall atmosphere of the game even more gloomy and unsettling. The characters also look far better compared to the standard mode as the Found Footage mode makes them exude a retro-Japanese horror look.
Apart from the Found Footage mode, Greyhill Incident Abducted Edition will include the following extras:
- Newspaper from the initial Alien Invasion
- Digitally downloadable wallpapers and Soundtrack
- A how-to guide on making tin foil hat
Greyhill Incident will launch for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on June 9th. You may add it to your PlayStation Store and Steam wishlist to be notified when it becomes available.
