With Spring in full bloom, Guilded, a video gaming community platform developed by Guilded, Inc. and owned by Roblox Corporation since August 16, 2021, has launched its feature-packed update, catering to competitive gaming and esports enthusiasts.
Among the new features, Guilded has introduced Role icons, which can be added to any role in a server, allowing users to choose from unlimited emotes or directly upload custom icons. The highest unlocked role icons will be displayed beside users’ names, showcasing their standing within the server.
The update also brings support for Roblox login, enabling new users to create Guilded profiles using their Roblox accounts, while existing users who have connected their Roblox accounts can now log in using their Roblox credentials as an alternative to email login.
Linux users can now enjoy a revamped client with a multitude of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, including a new launch screen designed specifically for Linux, making app updates easier.
Guilded has refactored its typeahead feature, optimizing it for Android and iOS to make typing, tagging, and mentioning faster than ever, with suggestions rendering more than 300% faster for a smoother experience.
To manage reactions, Guilded has introduced new tools for moderators that allow them to remove individual reactions, all reactions of specific emotes, or every reaction from any message. Additionally, a reaction overflow feature has been added, which automatically hides unique emotes after the first 40 on any message. Users can view all reactions by unrolling the overflow or opening the ‘All reactions’ menu.
The Spring update also includes numerous enhancements and bug fixes for the mobile and desktop apps across Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Improvements have been made to voice chat connection and stability, noise cancellation, typeahead performance, GIF performance, auto-collapse behaviors on channel sidebars, deep search UX and UI, and more. Bug fixes include resolving issues with embeds in chat channels, behaviors associated with the ‘Join voice’ button, streaming issues, and more.
