GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, developer and publisher CD PROJEKT RED’s free digital card game based on The Witcher, just revealed the title and first two cards of the anticipated Update 11.4.
Claw and Dagger is the official name, while Sigismund Dijkstra and Redanian Agent were the new cards revealed today. The new update is slated to roll out on April 13th, 2023. You can watch the full reveal kickoff on GWENT’s YouTube channel here:
With the new update, each faction is going to receive four new cards. There are two more card drops expected in July and September. A 2023 roadmap, with more details about the upcoming drops, was released a few months ago:
Although smaller card reveals like today’s kickoff would ordinarily feel a little routine, GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is planning on winding down this year. So, these are the final card reveals that fans will get to break down, and every single one counts.
The synergy between today’s cards is simple but fun. Sigismund can generate boosts while they’re still in your deck, and Redanian Agent specifically grants boosts to units in your deck. For balancing, the latter has a cooldown of 2. The overall balancing in GWENT may have had some issues before, but it does seem like the devs are trying to take care with these final card drops.
The art design is consistently gorgeous, and Sigismund in particular has a terrific look. The lighting is neatly divided and dramatic, the details are refined, and the point of view is ever so slightly askew. These features really capture the character, and it’s always fun to see the game successfully translates the world of The Witcher.
