Echoes Within is shaping up to be a solid season, adding enough content to renew some interest. The game still seems to be steering in the right direction. Halo Infinite has been fighting an uphill battle for some time now, following the early lack of content and local co-op campaign fiasco.

The Shroud Screen looks like a decent addition to the potential equipment. It borrows from other shooters like Valorant or Apex Legends, both of which include abilities that obstruct lines of sight, which are fundamentally important in any shooter. The Shroud Screen will also help with map traversal when players get stuck in the open on BTB maps.

The new maps have a decent layout, and don’t seem quite so plain as some earlier alternatives. Cliffhanger in particular has some Lockdown vibes that should please longtime fans, with its medium build and natural pitfalls.

However, what will probably be one of the more overlooked highlights in today’s trailer was earning XP in the community playlist. Rewarding players for supporting each other’s hard work is crucial, since it’s mostly the fanbase creations that have given Halo Infinite such sturdy legs.

Escalation Slayer is always welcome, since Gun Game has been a custom lobby favorite since the earliest days. It’s fast-paced, surprising, and probably works with the new maps pretty well.
