Harmony’s Odyssey, an upcoming diorama puzzle game from MythicOwl, has just released a new trailer and launch date. The game is slated for October 19th, 2022, and it will be available on Steam or the Nintendo Switch. You can watch the full trailer on YouTube here:
MythicOwl, a small dev and publishing team from Poland, continue to reinforce their passion for education and puzzles with this one. They’ve primarily focused on indie puzzle games before, with previous titles like Hexalogic and One Line Coloring.
These have the same tone, but Harmony’s Odyssey really feels like a solid culmination of all their ideas. The diorama premise is actually a fun little hook, which almost draws a line to tile-placement board games. The 3D graphics are decent and help distinguish Harmony’s Odyssey from countless puzzle games in the mobile area.
The trailer also shows off some supernatural elements tied to fall and Halloween, letting it capitalize on the season. The art design is very cute, almost akin to Animal Crossing, offering a good variety of enemies and worlds. And as MythicOwl clearly leans towards education, Harmony’s Odyssey is shaping up to be a perfectly fine kid’s game.
The colorful settings are vibrant and creative, and the puzzles themselves seem pretty relaxing. There is also a joyful sense of humor in this one. Anyone who has a cat in the family will grin when they hear the fantasy worlds have been tangled by a rowdy cat, as the Steam product page explains.
Surprisingly, the game will also support cooperative gameplay. If you missed it, here’s a trailer for co-op mode from a couple months ago:
Harmony’s Odyssey was announced a full year ago, with few updates since. The new release date is a perfect slot, and surely a great relief to the thousands of curious fans that watched the announcement trailer.
