The upcoming addition to the Harvest Moon franchise, Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation 5, Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox Series X, Microsoft Xbox One, and PC (Steam) later this year. Natsume Inc., the worldwide developer and publisher of family-oriented video games, made the announcement recently.
In The Winds of Anthos, players will have the opportunity to care for various animals, ranging from traditional farm animals such as cows, chickens, sheep, and horses to pets like parakeets, owls, rabbits, wolves, and Bengal tigers. The game also allows players to ride their horse or other mounts as they explore the world of Anthos.

To ensure a thriving farm, players will need to grow a variety of crops and flowers, including corn, giant squash, pineapples, hibiscus, and tulips. Collecting seeds from around the world with the help of Harvest Wisps is essential to grow both regular and rare crops.

The game introduces players to a diverse set of characters, such as Westley, who leads Providence Village with his adventurous younger sister, Vivi. Providence Village has become a multicultural hub since an unprecedented volcanic eruption in Anthos forced many people from their villages to seek refuge there.
Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume, expressed excitement about introducing players to the expansive world of Anthos, particularly Providence Village. Fans can anticipate discovering various people, animals, and crops as they explore this new world.

Anthos, the setting of the game, is home to the Harvest Sprites and the Harvest Goddess, spirits who protect people and nature. The volcanic eruption that occurred a decade ago prompted the Harvest Goddess and her Harvest Sprites to use all their powers to save the people. Although successful, the eruption left the villages disconnected. With the hope of reconnecting the separated villages and people, the Harvest Goddess sent a bottle containing a letter and a magic key into the ocean before falling into a deep sleep.
