Haunted Memories: The Return, the sequel to the original Haunted Memories, has released its Steam trailer, revealing more about what the game entails. This iteration expands upon its predecessor, a Steam Greenlight project, by adding a multitude of new elements including an improved storyline, enhanced graphics, the introduction of Non-Player Characters (NPCs), and a range of difficulty settings.
Developers have shared a gripping introduction to the game’s setting, a place known as Green Park. Players are dropped into a cold, damp environment, surrounded by a heavy rain, wind, and a thick, oppressive fog. A sign on a large wooden board ominously reads: “Welcome to Green Park.” This is the world players will navigate in Haunted Memories: The Return, where they will be challenged to face their fears.
The game is categorized as a psychological horror, where players assume their own roles, choosing their paths through Green Park. According to the developers, the loneliness and isolation of Green Park is not as it initially appears. The game suggests an unseen presence that is always observing and listening, creating an undercurrent of suspense throughout the gaming experience.
Haunted Memories: The Return extends its gameplay features to include a wide range of evidence for players to collect. These pieces, which include files, voice recordings, videotapes, and photographs, enable players to piece together the mystery that shrouds Green Park.
In an interesting twist, the game introduces the use of a UV light filter, allowing players to reveal aspects of the game environment that are not visible to the naked eye.
Survival is a central theme in Haunted Memories: The Return, as players traverse through more than ten unique locations in Green Park. Each location houses its own secrets and challenges, making every journey an intense experience. The game can currently be wishlisted on Steam.
