The extraction shooter genre has been rising in popularity in the last year or two, with titles like Hunt: Showdown and other genre staples inspiring developers to create new titles like HAWKED. The new extraction shooter from developer MY.GAMES is allowing PC and PlayStation players to experience a crossplay Open Beta, starting on Aug. 31 until Sep. 4.
Players interested in the HAWKED Open Beta can get a head start by beginning the pre-load on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC right now. For those unaware, HAWKED aims to be a new generation of extraction games that introduces a new range of PvP and PvE combat on the unique X-Isle island. It looks like it will be part extraction shooter and part battle royale, with the island evolving over time.
This isn’t the first beta the title has had but is the first crossplay beta that players will be able to try out, allowing those on PlayStation and PC to compete. Those on PlayStation will need to download the HAWKED Open Beta, while players on PC will need to request access, with a Steam account in good standing, on the game’s store page.
There’s no official release date given for the title, but the fact that it’s continuing more advanced betas is likely a good sign that the developer is getting ready to launch.
