There is good news if you’re a player of Helldivers 2. A patch is on the way to fix one of the most annoying issues in the game. Alongside that comes a load more fixes to crashes that keep happening.
The new patch, 01.000.006, significantly improves the game, enhancing general stability and addressing connectivity issues. One of the key highlights is resolving the crashing problem during the extraction cutscene. That’s right; there will be no more crashing when you complete the mission. I don’t know how the game wasn’t review-bombed for that because that’s a huge gaming sin.
The patch also fixes several other crash-related issues, such as crashes when using text-to-speech during the extraction cutscene, during the joining cutscene, and when using ADS (aim down sight). The update also fixes crashes caused by leftover visual effects from disconnected players and those related to user profiles with too many friends.
In addition to these crash fixes, the development team has significantly improved the game’s backend connectivity. This means you’ll now have a reduced likelihood of experiencing disconnects during missions. This should make it easier to play with friends and fix the crashing that tends to happen there.
The patch prepared the build for upcoming server matchmaking improvements, aiming to enhance the matchmaking experience and increase the likelihood of successful matches. This was an annoying issue, but at least it’s fixed.
One weird issue that was fixed was that the game tended to make patches bigger than they should have been. This patch fixes that, which is a hard one to imagine. Helldivers 2 is an incredibly popular game right now, and fixes like this will help it as it goes to new platforms in the future.
