Homestead Arcana is an upcoming farming simulation game developed by Serenity Forge and published Skybound Games. In this game, players will assume the role of a young witch farmer, Billie, and embark on a magical adventure with his cat familiar Huckleberry to save the land from the threat of Miasma and ensure the survival of future generations.
Recently, Skybound Games announced that Homestead Arcana is set to launch on April 21, 2023, for PC via Steam and Game Pass for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Get a sneak peek at the gameplay of Homestead Arcana in a new trailer, courtesy of Skybound Games’ official Youtube channel:
Players will be able to construct their very own home from the ground up and tend to their ever-expanding garden in Homestead Arcana. In order to combat the lethal Miasma, players will need to tap on the power of nature to concoct spells as well as be mentally prepared for the mysterious challenges that lie ahead as they work with Billie’s friendly cat familiar, Huckleberry.
As players explore the land, they will discover new plants and spells, to bring back to their homestead. They may also journey even deeper into the corrupted land in search of new seeds, recipes, and knowledge.
The latest teaser trailer for Homestead Arcana offers the impression that it provides a magical take on the farming sim genre with mechanics that is comparable to last year’s Harvestella. The game’s environment is visually stunning and includes elements reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Some drawbacks that can be recognized in Homestead Arcana include the character design, particularly the protagonist, who has little to no apparent emotions and unintentionally absurd movements at times. He also bears no resemblance to how he was depicted in the key art. Regardless of these drawbacks, the extent to which Homestead Arcana will appeal to farming sim fans can only be determined upon its release.
You may add Homestead Arcana to your Steam and Xbox store wishlist now to be notified when it becomes available or you can pre-order it for $19.99 on the Xbox store.
