Honkai: Star Rail, the highly anticipated free-to-play 3D role-playing game developed and published by HoYoverse, has reached a milestone of 10 million pre-registrations. The developers announced the achievement on Twitter, encouraging gamers to pre-register and unlock rewards, including 20 Star Rail Passes and a 4-star character, Serval (Erudition: Lightning). Additionally, a retweet contest is being held until April 25, 2023, where 20 lucky trailblazers have a chance to win a $100 gift card.
As the fourth installment in the Honkai series, Honkai: Star Rail introduces new characters and alternate versions of existing characters from its predecessor, Honkai Impact 3rd. The game features turn-based strategic combat, with players controlling up to four characters in a team, and includes elements of open-world and dungeon exploration.
Honkai: Star Rail was officially revealed on October 7, 2021, via the game’s official YouTube channel. The game underwent three closed beta tests, with the final one held on February 10, 2023, prior to the game’s release. It is scheduled to launch on April 26, 2023, for Windows, iOS, and Android platforms, with PlayStation 4 and 5 ports arriving at a later date.
The game’s storyline is set after the events of Honkai Impact 3rd, with protagonist Welt Yang venturing into a parallel universe. Players join the Astral Express crew and the artificially created “Trailblazer” as they defend the Herta Space Station from the Antimatter Legion’s Voidrangers and a monstrous “Doomsday Beast.” The Trailblazer, imbued with the power of a Stellaron, sets off on a journey with the Astral Express to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Stellaron and their own existence.
With a rapidly growing player base, Honkai: Star Rail’s 10 million pre-registrations signal excitement and anticipation for HoYoverse’s latest offering in the world of role-playing games.
