Horizon Forbidden West is the follow up to the wildly successful Horizon Zero Dawn, which has you playing as Aloy in a world where robotic creatures roam the planet. The sequel to the game appears to follow up the story from the previous game as you traverse west and seek to find the source of a plague that kills everything that it infects. The game will take you through a variety of new biomes, including heading into the waters of the land. The game will be available for both PlayStation 4 and 5.

Horizon Forbidden West is an eagerly anticipated game, but it was delayed unfortunately due to complications caused by COVID-19. The game was originally scheduled to be released in late 2021, but was pushed back into early 2022. We are hoping that Horizon Forbidden West is now ontrack to be released on its scheduled date.

Horizon Forbidden West has a set release date and time February 18th, 2022 at 12am EST and February 17th, 2022 9pm PST for the Americas. If you are in Europe, you can expect it to drop at February 18th, 2022 5am GMT and 6am CET. For players in Asia or Oceania (Australia) the game will launch at February 18th, 2022 1pm CST and 4pm AEDT. This is the standard time that PlayStation exclusives are released.

Horizon Forbidden West Preload Date
It has been reported by the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account that the preload of the game will start on February 11th, 2022. The game size without the day one patch is 96.350 GB. That’s a pretty hefty game, so make sure you’ve cleaned up your console hard drive and get downloading once it is available. You can always get the physical version of the game, but you will still need to download a patch and likely some additional resources to get the game to run.

While it appears the $249.99 Regalla version has sold out on the PlayStation website, you can still nab the Collector’s Edition if you so desire.
