In The Fabulous Fear Machine, players will assume the role of Jen Hammond, the newest Master of the Machine. With the primary objective of generating fear and expanding their influence by creating Legends, players will gather resources, manipulate events, and spy on their enemies with the aid of Agents.

With over 80 Legends to choose from, The Fabulous Fear Machine allows players to craft a custom blend of terror for each city they visit. Among these Legends include cryptids like the Black Dog, urban legends like Bloody Mary, and conspiracies like Reptilians. Players will deploy Agents to new locations on the map, harvest and manage resources, decide how to deal with events in the simulation, and spy on the operations of their enemies, to ensure that the Legends will grow.

Players will also navigate challenges from rivals and forces of good alike who seek to undo the Machine’s influence. Overcoming these challenges requires players to plan accordingly to prevent their own Legends from being subverted into inspirational stories, mascots, or other sugary-sweet clichés.

As players progress, they will direct the stories of several Masters operating in different regions of the world. Players will also explore the history of the Machine, its enemies, and the Agents who aid the Master’s objective.

For those who want to get a taste of The Fabulous Fear Machine‘s exciting features, a playable demo is currently available on Steam.
