Hot Wheels Unleashed has received a lot of praise, and yet it hasn’t gotten as much attention as expected. The game released back in September 2021, so hopefully the new IP tie-in will draw in new players. The trailer is appropriately playful, including those classic Warner Brothers title cards and fonts.

The Looney Tunes expansion is a natural fit, not just for its target demographic, but also with its colorful visuals and the sense of dangerous fun.

Gameplay footage shows off the Looney Tunes Adventure Park. It has multiple themed areas for various classic characters, such as a rocket for Marvin the Martian, as well as broader sections like an ACME factory. While a lot of love was clearly put into the park, it also feels a little small.

Fans also got a peek at some of the new tracks, including one that’s basically set in a Road Runner desert. Fortunately, there will also be five new character-themed vehicles. These include Marvin the Martian, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Bugs Bunny (of course), and Daffy Duck.

Fans will also get the chance to try out new customization items, and race with an Acme Rocket Module that’ll fire rockets directly into the road.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is available on either PlayStation 4 or 5, and continues to be a welcome addition to the racing genre. The game has found its own feel and style, distinguishable enough from kart games even when it borrows similar mechanics.
