Core Keeper is the newest indie game to blow up Steam’s Top Seller list. So many players are hopping in to explore the underground in this pixelated crafting and survival game. The world players will find themselves digging in is significant, and biomes can stretch hundreds of blocks.

This guide will show you how to move around the underground in Core Keeper faster by using a minecart and rails.

How to Build a Railroad in Core Keeper

To build the Railway Forge in Core Keeper, you’ll need access to the Tin Workbench, which requires 15 tin ore. Once you get the upgraded forge, you’ll need to craft the railroad tracks and a minecart. First, create a path with the railroad and then use the cart to travel on it to reach destinations faster.

To make a track that extends any reasonable distance, you’ll need to get a lot of tin. You can find tin randomly in The Clay Caves biome. Since you’ll need one per five tracks, you should collect a lot before attempting to make your path. However many tracks you think you’ll need, you should bring about 30 more.

You should be aware that certain monsters can quickly destroy the tracks and minecart. Without spoiling anything, be wary of large open tunnels filled with goo. If you build in that area, you may lose a minecart and a decent amount of tracks. If you can defeat what lurks there, you may build more freely.

Core Keeper Railroad

In the early game, there is not a lot of use for tracks due to the overwhelming amount of resources it costs to make tracks of any distance. Luckily, as you level up your crafting ability, you’ll be able to learn the skill that has a chance of rewarding you with an additional rail. This can help limit the number of resources you need to craft your railway.

Railroads can be a great tool that can move you across the same old tunnels you’re always running through. It can help you transport lots of treasure quickly without worrying about being hurt by monsters. Once you have access to an ample supply of tin, you can make as many railroad paths as you want.

That’s all you need to know about how to build a railroad in Core Keeper. Once you find tin, you’ll be that much closer to getting around your caves in a minecart. We’ve got more great content on the game that can be found in the Core Keeper section of our website.
