The long-awaited Elden Ring is released all over the world today. So naturally, players will be jumping into the game to explore The Lands Between with whatever tools they have at their disposal. However, unlike other open-world RPGs, Elden Ring won’t hold your hand when it comes to some of the more subtle gameplay details. Instead, users will need trial and error to find what best works for their playstyle.
When starting as the Bandit or Samurai class, you’ll quickly realize that your supply of ammo is finite. So to make new arrows or bolts, you’ll need to gather the recipe and supplies.
How to Craft Arrows in Elden Ring
Immediately after you’ve found the first Site of Grace, follow its guiding beam to the following Site, where you’ll see Merchant Kale by a fire. Save up enough runes first, and then you’ll need to buy the Crafting Kit and the first Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook. These purchases will unlock the ability to craft, the Bone Arrow, and Fletched Bone Arrow recipes.

If you need arrows and don’t have the funds for the crafting kit, you can purchase more from Kale at a rate of around 20 runes per arrow. Buying arrows isn’t the easiest way to keep runes but it can help you get to a place where you can afford the crafting kit and appropriate cookbook. You’ll want to make sure you use your arrows carefully because crafting them comes at a cost as well.
To craft 10 bone arrows, you’ll need three Thin Beast Bones. To fletch the arrows and likely make them more accurate, you’ll need a Flight Pinion. You can get Thin Beast Bones from hunting animals and Flight Pinion from birds that you see rested around the land. If the animal doesn’t let you get close, try sneaking up on it for a more fair shot.
You should have more than one plan when you set out on a battle. That way, if you run out of arrows, you can still fall back on your melee weapon and spells. If all else fails, have Torrent secured to one of your quick actions so that you can escape from a battle until you’re able to come back with more ammo.
Once you find Merchant Kale and purchase the Crafting Kit and the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook, you’ll have all you need to start making your arrows in Elden Ring.
