Elden Ring is the newest addition to the storied list of games that FromSoftware has released into the world. While it doesn’t follow Dark Souls lore, it forges its own path of brutality in a more open-world setting. While these games are thought of fondly, one common bit about them is how they are a bit difficult to understand. If you are trying to figure out how to use emotes on PC, we’ll show you how in this guide!

Using Emotes

To use emotes in Elden Ring, you will need to open up the in-game menu which contains your Equipment Item Crafting, Inventory, and more. On the right side of the menu, you will find your Pouch and six different Gestures aka Emotes that you can perform in the game.

Opening your menu can be done by hitting the Escape key on your keyboard, or hitting the Menu/Start button on your gamepad. Once you have it open, bring your cursor over to the right side of the screen and pick the Gesture you’d like to use. If you want to switch out these options, you can by pressing either the Remove or Switch button that will be displayed beneath the Gestures list.

If you pre-ordered the game, you will find that you have “The Ring Gesture”, which can be equipped in the menu. This will animate your character putting their arms over their head in the shape of a ring!
