Clash Royale will soon be launching the new card evolutions feature. A player can now evolve a card, like The Barbarians, to amplify its abilities, making it a formidable force in the battlefield.
The evolution process is no secret, but it does require some effort. Players can unlock card evolutions by gathering six evolution shards specific to the card they wish to enhance. These shards can be obtained from various sources – the season shop, Pass Royale, shop offers, and challenges. Additionally, they can be found along the Path of Legends or in level-up chests.
Utilizing Wild Shards and Evolution Slots
In a bid to make the evolution process more versatile, Clash Royale has introduced a new magic item called the Wild Shard. This special item lets you use a shard towards any evolution of your choice. You can find it in the season shop and the standard shop.
Once you’ve evolved a card, it can be added to the Evolution card slot. Remember, you can still use the card outside of this slot, but the enhanced abilities won’t come into play. The game also indicates this by showing a sign at the bottom. To access this feature, players need to be at King Level 7, which thankfully isn’t too difficult to achieve!
Mastering Evolved Cards in Battles
The mechanics of using evolved cards in battles add a twist to the gameplay. The evolved cards aren’t instantly available in their evolved state. For instance, the Evolved Barbarians start as ordinary Barbarians. After playing them once and allowing them to recycle in your card cycle, you can then use them in their evolved form.
A unique attribute to remember is that the number of cycles a card needs before reaching its evolved state varies. Players can find this information within the card info screen.

The Unleashed Power of Evolved Barbarians
So what does an evolved Barbarian card bring to the table?
The evolved barbarians are designed to grow angrier with each hit, boosting their movement and attack speed. Unlike the rage spell, being “angry” has a shorter cooldown and stacks with each hit. If you allow even a single evolved Barbarian to strike your tower, it can quickly deal significant damage due to this stacking ability.
Beyond their unique “angry” feature, the evolved Barbarians also have enhanced base stats. They deal 270 damage and possess 870 HP, making them resilient enough to withstand a fireball. With these attributes, Evolved Barbarians are set to be potent against any tank in the game, potentially becoming a highly preferred card in the evolution meta.
