Featured Core Keeper How To Fish

Core Keeper is the newest indie game to blow up the Steam Top Seller list. This crafting and survival game takes inspiration from the many games in the genre before it. Of course, one of the core features in any sandbox survival game is the ability to fish for dinner and whatever else you may catch.

Core Keeper has its fishing minigame, complete with a little graphic indicating your progress. In this guide, we’ll teach you all you need to know about fishing in Core Keeper.

How to Fish in Core Keeper

To fish in Core Keeper, you’ll need to get a fishing rod by crafting one with tin or finding one in a large crate. Then, once you have a fishing rod, you’ll need to cast it into an area with bubbles coming up and press the cast button again once it goes under. The goal of the minigame is to get the fish to the left side of the bar while making sure to stop when the fish turns red.

You’ll need to progress to the point where you’re able to find tin to get yourself a fishing rod. You can find tin inside the clay biome, shown by the orange ground on your map. Once you’ve got enough, you’ll need to craft a tin workbench, which will give you access to a whole new set of tools. You can also get lucky and find a wood fishing pole in crates that are left lying around.

The fishing minigame is similar to many that have come before it. You want to reel in the fish while it’s a standard color, but stop when it turns red. If you pull too much while the fish is fighting you, you’ll run the risk of the line snapping. This will damage your fishing pole and leave you without your catch.

Core Keeper Fishing

Different kinds of fish will have differing levels of difficulty. This means that you should upgrade your fishing pole as you upgrade the rest of your tools as well. This will ensure that you’ll be prepared for the challenge no matter what fish you face. Also, as you progress on your fishing journey, your fishing level will increase. This allows you to purchase new skills that will make it easier when you’re reeling in a catch.

The fishing minigame in Core Keeper is all about patience. If you can take the time and wait for the right moment to reel in, that’s all you need to know about fishing in Core Keeper. Be sure to check out the Core Keeper section of our website for more great content!
