How To Solve Performance Issues In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
To solve frame drops, stuttering and long load times in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, all you have to do is change the Graphics API From DirectX 12 to DirectX 11. The difference this makes is phenomenal, and makes the game run amazingly better without any noticeable loss in quality.

I stumbled upon this fix earlier today when I was going to change my graphics settings. Before I changed anything, however, I thought back to my experience with Borderlands 3; Yes, this was a problem that was present for Borderlands 3 players as well, and sure enough, the same fix for that game worked wonders for Wonderlands.
This is a problem that persists even for players on high-end machines. My rig is fairly expensive, and while I could run the game on high, the load times were very tedious. By changing the graphics API, however, load times went from minutes to seconds, overall improving the quality of my experience tremendously.
Theoretically, DirectX 12 shoulder run Wonderlands better than DirectX 11; It is the newer, more advanced version of the graphics API, and in most games this is the case. However, something about Gearbox’s latest releases has a problem with this feature, and switching from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11 is a known fix for Borderlands 3, that now apparently also applies to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
If you’ve applied this solution and are still facing problems, try reducing your render scale. Lowering the render scale from 100% to 70 or 80% can make a world of difference for lower-end machines without greatly hurting the game’s visuals. At most, some textures will be smaller and you may see a bit of fuzz on the edges of models.
That’s everything you need to know to fix your performance issues in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands! If you’re not satisfied with your results, be sure to customize your options until you find the best performance for you.
